Films and shows tend to end up in different places. Your films are in one app, the show you're halfway through is "somewhere in Netflix", and the watchlist lives in a note on your phone. Logfolio gives each its own shelf, on the same page.
Films and TV, side by side
Films and TV are both ready from the start, on every plan. Each entry has a status:
- Watchlist for things you want to see.
- Watching for the show you're in the middle of.
- Watched for what you've finished.
- Dropped for the ones you gave up on, so you remember not to try again.
Add a rating, from half a star to five, and a date. The date can be exact, or just a month or a year when you can't remember. Both shelves show as a wall of posters on your public page, at logfolio.co/yourname/films and logfolio.co/yourname/tv. See a sample films and TV page.
One entry per show
A show is one entry, not one per episode. Mark it Watching while you're working through it and Watched when you're done. If you want to remember where you are, add a tag like season-3 or write it in the note. Notes stay private.
Bring your history over
You don't have to start from zero. Each of these reads the file the service already lets you download:
- Letterboxd brings your films: every diary entry, rewatches included, with half-star ratings, tags, and your watchlist.
- IMDb brings films and TV shows from your ratings, your watchlist, or any of your lists. Episodes are left out, so a show stays one entry.
- Netflix brings what each profile watched. Episodes roll up into one entry per show, dated by the last one you watched, with your films alongside. The file has no ratings, so add those afterwards if you want them.
Anything already in your log is skipped, so uploading the same file again never makes duplicates. Step-by-step instructions are in the guide to moving your history.
Keep the watchlist useful
A watchlist only helps if you trust it. Two habits keep it that way:
- Add things the moment you hear about them. It takes a few seconds, and it beats trying to remember that title a friend mentioned.
- Clear it out now and then. If something has sat there for a year and you no longer care, delete it or mark it Dropped.
On your public page, visitors can filter by Watched, Watching, and Watchlist, so friends can see what you'd recommend and what you're still meaning to get to.
Feature the best ones
Mark up to five films and five shows as featured. They lead each shelf, so the first thing anyone sees is what you'd put on the top of the pile.
See your year
Everything you mark Watched with a date counts toward your year in review: how many films and shows you finished, month by month, and your top-rated picks. Stats are part of Pro.
How much it costs
Free holds 20 films and 20 shows, along with books, games, and albums. Pro removes the limit, so a full Letterboxd or Netflix history comes over in one go.
