Overview

IMDb lets you export your ratings, your watchlist, and any of your lists as CSV files. Upload them to Logfolio and your films and TV shows come over with your rating.

What comes over

• Films and TV shows, each in its own type
• Your rating
• The date you rated it, as the date watched (usually close to when you saw it)
• Your watchlist, as Watchlist
• Episodes, video games, and podcasts are left out

Good to know

• Movies, shorts, TV movies, TV specials, and videos go to Films. Series and mini-series go to TV.
• A film's director becomes its "by", and each film keeps a link to its IMDb page.
• IMDb rates out of 10, the same scale Logfolio uses, so a 7 stays a 7 (three and a half stars).
• A title in more than one of your files lands once, and a rated copy wins over an unrated one.
• Old and new IMDb export formats both work.

Setup

1. On a computer (the export isn't in the app), open Your Ratings, your Watchlist, or one of your lists.
2. Choose Export and download the CSV. Each list is its own file.
3. In Logfolio, open Settings, then Import, and upload each file one after the other.

Privacy

• Your IMDb file is read once to make your entries, then thrown away. Logfolio never signs in to IMDb.
• Reviews stay private; your public page shows titles, ratings, dates, and tags.
