Import from GoodreadsFile import

Move your Goodreads books, shelves, and ratings

Overview

Goodreads lets you download your whole library as a CSV file. Upload it to Logfolio and every book comes over with your rating, the date you read it, and your shelves, so you don't start your reading log from zero.

Fills your Books.

What comes over

  • Title, author, year, and ISBN
  • Your star rating and the date you read it
  • Your review (kept private)
  • Your shelves, as tags
  • Currently reading becomes Reading, and to-read becomes Want to read

Good to know

  • Your own shelves become tags. The three built-in shelves (read, currently reading, to-read) set the status instead.
  • A shelf called did-not-finish, dnf, or abandoned marks those books as dropped.
  • The year is the book's original publication year when Goodreads has it, not the year of your edition.
  • Only books on your read shelf get a date: Goodreads' Date Read.
  • Reviews keep their line breaks; Goodreads' formatting tags are taken out.

Privacy

  • Your Goodreads file is read once to make your entries, then thrown away. Logfolio never signs in to Goodreads.
  • Reviews stay private; your public page shows titles, ratings, dates, and tags.

Plan

Free brings in up to 20 entries per type. Pro brings everything.

Questions

How much does it bring?

Free brings in up to 20 entries per type, newest first. Pro brings everything, and you can upload the same file again after upgrading to get the rest.

Does my reading challenge or friends list come over?

No. Only what's in the Goodreads export file: your books, shelves, ratings, reviews, and dates.

Can I import from both Goodreads and StoryGraph?

Yes. A book that's in both files lands once; only a different finish date counts as another read or watch.

Can I import the same file again?

Yes. What's already in your log is skipped and your edits are kept.
